Happy Valentine's Day!

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Bastian's to celebrate the long holiday weekend. They live on a ranch of sorts in a little town. It is Kaycee and Luke's favorite place to go. In fact when we got home today Luke asked me if why we can't live at Grandma and Grandpa B.'s house. As always it was a blast! We had a wonderful time relaxing, talking, eating too much of mom's good cooking, visiting Grandma O. and Uncle Jayson and Aunt Ginger, playing games, and most of all just hanging out with the family. The kids had fun playing together, making crafts and making snow candy. There are always wonderful memories made whenever we go to grandmas.

3 month old Baby Raleigh had a good Valentine's too. Look at those beautiful eyes!

Playing dominoes and eating popcorn at Grandma's - one of our favorite nightly rituals. Grandma's not playing so well here.

Yummy!

The kids loved it!

Ward Ball!

You've gotta love ward basketball. A bunch of men getting together. All different ages and different abilities. I like watching it better than any pro or college game. It's way more exciting! I love how they always start with a prayer and a reminder on good sportsmanship. Things get pretty heated on the floor. Our ward lost this game by 12 points (we have an "older" team). It was fun to be there.

Wednesday Night Fun!

On Wednesday night Kaycee and I had a mother daughter outing with our dance friends. These are the girls we practically live with on competition weekends. We went to Red Robin to eat dinner and then to Kearns High School (random I know) to watch the London Royal Ballet performance. The company and food was great and the dancers were amazing. We couldn't take flash pictures of the performance so you just have to take my word on how good they were! They had one scene with a man in those tights that leave nothing to the imagination. It was so funny because 4-year-old Sariah watched him, smiled and then turned to Melanie and said "Is he wearing any pants?" It was pretty funny. Kids are honest. Here are a few pictures of the fun:

The girls at dinner. Aren't they cute?

Kaycee and Sydnie on the way to Red Robin. On the way home Kaycee and Sydnie were eating Smarties Valentine's - you know the one's with all the cute sayings on them. Next thing I hear is Kaycee telling Sydnie "Ya. My mom gets really lovestruck sometimes." Where does she come up with these things?"

The same night Luke had a Jr. Jazz game. He is quite the player. Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlain came to watch. He loves basketball.

The Armour of God

Last night we had a F.H.E. lesson about wearing the Armour of God. We had a blast by improvising. Helmet of salvation(2 of our 4-wheeling helmets), breastplate of righteousness (our fleece vests), loins girt with the belt of truth (mom and dad's belts), feet shod in preparation of the gospel of peace (Kaycee and Luke's boots), shield of faith (decorative pillows) and the sword of the spirit (one lightsaber and one buzz lightyear sword).

Ice Fishing Scare

Yesterday John and Luke went ice fishing with friends Matt and Brady at 5:00am. They took our 4-wheeler and drove out to Strawberry Reservoir. It was freezing when they arrived! They loaded everything onto the 4-wheeler, wrapped Luke and Brady in a big blanket and put them on a sled (they were pulling the sled behind the 4-wheeler with a rope)and set out over the reservoir for their mile and a half drive to the spot where they were going to fish. When they were about halfway there the back tires sunk into six inches of slushy water. John was able to get the wheeler out and they thought "that's not good" but continued on their way knowing that the edge of the water thaws first meaning the further out you go, the thicker the ice. They kept going and all of a sudden the front tires sunk into slushy water. The tires were spinning and they were having a slow time getting out. According to John it scared him to death and he thought they were going under the deep, icy water. He said he saw his life flash before him. Luckily they were able to get out of that and John drove like mad back to shore (scaring Luke to death). They called me after it happened. John doesn't scare easily, in fact he's one of the bravest people I know, but he told me that he has never been so scared in his life. They took the wheeler back and ended up fishing not too far off shore. When John got home later in the day he kept hugging me all day long. Thank heavens the little boys had no idea that anything had gone wrong and in the end no harm was done. I'm glad I wasn't there to panic. We feel blessed! Oh and they had one bite and saw three fishes but didn't catch anything!

We Lunched!

While the boys fished, Kaycee and I went to lunch. We went to Chili's. I haven't eaten there for a long time. Let me tell you the nachos were a piece of heaven and hanging out with my girl was the best!
