Here are Kaycee and Luke jamming out to Michael Jackson's Beat It. Kaycee's first time and Luke's second time playing the game. Luke cracks me up. I could seriously just sit and watch him for days in his flood pajama bottoms. The kids and I decided that we wanted to get Michael Jackson The Experience for our Wii. We saw the commercials advertising it and just had to have it! Luke love, love, loves Michael Jackson so much so we decided we'd all pitch in $10 and buy it. It's by the same makers as the popular Just Dance games (which I have never played before) and apparently works the same way. As you know Michael Jackson is one of the greatest dancers of all times. We have had a lot of fun trying to groove like him. Because of all my injuries and illnesses of late I have only had the opportunity to dance to 2 songs. I suck! The kids (especially Kaycee) are pretty good at it and it really is kind of challenging. It is a good workout and that is one thing I really like about it. John has played it once and actually did really good. He took all the fun out of it by realizing that you only have to move your arms right to get a good score. The rest of us do it legs and all because that's what makes it so funny and crazy to do.

Dance Competition Time Again 2011
Kaycee competed in her 1st competition of the year this last weekend at Thanksgiving Point. Friday was solo competition and Kayc competed her jazz solo "Fighter". I am proud of her. She did really good and she felt happy with her performance. She got 2nd place and was pretty sad after that. She was .2 points away from queen. The other 2 times she has competed a solo or duet there she has gotten queen and was pretty bummed that she didn't get it this time. "You can't win them all" is what I kept telling her. She was fine by Friday night and made a goal to try to "sell" her routine better to the judges at the next competition with more attitude and facials. By team competition on Saturday she was happy and smiling again.
Her Sr. Elite team did great! Their jazz routine was awesome!!! The best I have ever seen it and I really think it was one of the best routines at the competition! Unfortunately they got 2nd place on it too. We were all pretty shocked - especially their coach. I guess it was extra tough judging this year. They also did great on their lyrical but it could have been better and was deserving of the second place they got. I didn't take many pictures because I kept getting involved in the competition and forgetting I had my camera.
Here's looking forward to a wonderful competition season!

Jr. Flash Clinic
Every year the Utah Flash puts on a free basketball clinic for their city leagues. Luke was so excited to go and had been looking forward to it for days. It turned out okay but was not everything he or I or anyone thought it would be. First of all the Flash people were 10 minutes late and secondly, out of the five Flash people that came, there was only one Flash player - 4 coaches and team helpers and 1 player. Totally disappointing. There were about a million kids and they divided them up 3rd-6th grade in one gym ( with the player and 2 coaches) and the 1st and 2nd graders in the other room with 2 coaches. There was not enough of them. It was so chaotic that some of the parents went on the floor to help them keep all the kids organized. They all had the opportunity to shoot the ball once is all. Then they worked a lot on defense and trying to keep the kids quiet. It was quite funny to watch. In the end Luke had some fun and I guess that's all that matters. At least I got some cute pictures out of it!:)
This is the Flash basketball player. His real name is seriously 16 names long and they call him something for short but I can't remember what it is. He was nice.
You had to wait your turn in a long line.
Luke has that killer instinct look on his face as he practices his defense.
Luke and his good friend Kameron. I had to get after Luke more than once for not listening and paying attention.
The one on the left is the Flash player and the one on the right is the head coach. The other 2 are coaches.
